Starr Regional Medical Center Welcomes First Baby of 2021
January 02, 2021Starr Regional Medical Center is ringing in 2021 with the year’s first bundle of joy. Weighing 9 pounds and 3 ounces and measuring 20 ¼ inches, Rachel Julia was born to Anastasia and Vitaliy Fomin, Friday, Jan. 1, at 3:38 a.m.
“We are so excited to meet the newest member of our family!” said Anastasia. “We are so grateful to the physicians, nurses and staff at Starr Regional for taking such good care of us and making this experience special for our family.”
Starr Regional’s Center for Women & Babies is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care close to home for new and expecting parents in the region. The Center offers care provided by a team of maternity professionals, including obstetrician-gynecologists and pediatricians, renovated patient rooms, childbirth and parenting education classes, as well as breastfeeding classes.
“Our clinical and support staff are committed to creating a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for moms and babies,” said Lisa Kinard, Director of Women’s Services at Starr Regional Medical Center. “It is one of our great privileges to help our community’s families welcome their newest additions in a positive and memorable way.”
In celebration of being the first baby born in 2021 at Starr Regional, the family was presented with a “Cuddle Quilt” from the Heritage Quilt Guild, made by guild member Jacquie Frimpter of Riceville, and a basket of gifts from Starr Regional Medical Center.
