New names for employed practices reflect connection to hospital and continued commitment to patients

Starr Regional Medical Center recently announced that the medical group practices employed by the hospital will feature new names that highlight the practices’ association with Starr Regional Medical Center and the services they provide. The change will be effective January 1, 2026.

For years, providers and staff offering primary care and specialty care services in McMinn County have been employed by Starr Regional Medical Center. Renaming these practices strengthens the connection of the practices to the hospital, which have collectively served the region for more than 50 years.

All practices employed by Starr Regional Medical Center are part of Starr Regional Medical Group. To better reflect this affiliation, practices with names that do not currently indicate their connection—such as Athens Family Practice and Medical Associates of Athens—will adopt new names. In addition, Starr Cardiology Associates will become Starr Heart & Vascular Clinic to more accurately represent the full range of services offered.

“Only the practice names are changing. Patients will continue to receive the same high-quality care from the same providers and staff, in the same locations,” said John McLain, CEO of Starr Regional Medical Center. “These new names reflect our commitment to continuity and coordination of care. We’re excited to share this unified identity with our community.”

Below are the names and locations of all Starr Regional Medical Group practices, those with name changes are specified:
