Dave Santoemma named Chief Operating Officer of Starr Regional Medical Center

Starr Regional Medical Center announced today that Dave Santoemma has been named Chief Operating Officer effective Monday, February 7, 2022. Santoemma joins Starr Regional from Saline Memorial Hospital, where he served as Associate Administrator.
“We are excited to have Dave step into this important leadership role at Starr Regional,” said John McLain, CEO of Starr Regional Medical Center. “His operational experience and commitment to patient care, physicians, employees and the community is evident in all that he does, and I know that he will help us further advance our mission of Making Communities Healthier.”
As Associate Administrator of Saline Memorial Hospital, Santoemma provided leadership support to hospital departments, including Environmental Services, Imaging, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Plant Operations, inpatient and outpatient therapy, and others; completed successful accreditations from The Joint Commission for the full hospital and laboratory; and sponsored multiple facility projects such as renovation of nursing floors, geriatric behavioral health unit, acute care rehab and pharmacy.
“Dave is a great fit for our hospital,” said Carter Runyan, Chair of the Starr Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees. “We have been impressed with his experience and knowledge, as well as his genuine care for people. We are looking forward to working with him to lead the hospital forward.”
Prior to his role at Saline Memorial Hospital, Santoemma served as Director of Physician Relations and Business Development at Sovah Health in Martinsville, Va.; and Director of Customer Service and Patient Scheduling and Direct Line Coordinator at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County in Martinsville, Va.

Santoemma holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Ariz. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
