Starr Regional Medical Center to host Fall Open House
& Job Fair
October 9, 2023

Starr Regional Medical Center (SRMC) will host a Fall Open House & Job Fair on Tuesday, October 17 from 4 – 6 p.m. The event is free and will take place in the medical office buildings behind the hospital, including Athens Medical Mall, Athens Medical Arts Plaza and Athens Professional Building, as well as the outdoor spaces. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about and apply for career opportunities and services at SRMC and meet affiliated providers. Community members also are encouraged to bring their children to “trick-or-treat” in the participating practices.
“We are eager to invite community members onto our Athens campus to meet providers face-to-face, apply for available job opportunities and learn more about the services we offer that advance our mission of making communities healthier,” said John McLain, Starr Regional Medical Center CEO. “In addition to being informative, we want to host something fun for our community members. What’s more fun than an open house with a food truck, costumes and candy?”
The American Job Center’s Mobile Coach will be onsite for job candidates to apply for positions during the event and the Midlife Frysis food truck will be there for anyone wanting to order a snack or meal. Everyone attending the event should plan to park in the parking lot in front of the Athens Medical Mall or the lot to the left of the Athens Medical Arts Plaza, both of which are located off Cook Drive in Athens. Staff members and volunteers will be present to guide visitors to the appropriate area and an event map is may be found at the bottom of this page. There will be no activities related to the open house or job fair taking place inside the hospital.
SRMC invites the best possible providers into our community, including those who provide specialized care that meets our community’s healthcare needs. Additionally, we persistently recruit the best possible candidates for our clinical and non-clinical positions within all service lines. We strive to create an environment where talent is recognized, job satisfaction is valued and employees can effectively use their skills to provide high-quality care and service.
“There are several new providers in our area, a few with offices in the medical office buildings, and we have invited them to participate. If you are seeking a specialist or a new primary care provider for yourself or family member, this is a great opportunity to meet and learn more about them,” said McLain. “We will also have department leaders available to discuss career opportunities with potential candidates. Whether you’re an experienced professional or just beginning your career, we invite you to learn more about what we have to offer you.”
