Starr Regional Medical Center welcomes Tricia Underwood, FNP

Starr Regional Medical Center today announced that Tricia Underwood, FNP, has joined its staff and will offer family health services to patients in Athens and the surrounding communities. Underwood is a certified family nurse practitioner.
“We are excited to welcome Tricia Underwood back to Athens,” said John McLain, chief executive officer of Starr Regional Medical Center. “Starr Regional Medical Center strives to make our community healthier by ensuring access to high quality care. Tricia will be a great addition to our team of family medicine providers who offer exceptional care, right here at home.”
Underwood graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration as a family nurse practitioner. She has more than 24 years’ experience as a family nurse practitioner in private practice settings in both the Athens and Knoxville areas. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and Tennessee Nurses Association. Underwood is certified as a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation instructor and is American Red Cross Disaster certified.
Underwood, a native of McMinn County, is married and they have two children. She enjoys spending time with her family and time at the lake.
